First Wings Award (formally the Fly Now Award)

Hello Ladies- The submission deadline for the First Wings Award (formally the Fly Now Award) is April 1. This is a milestone-based award of up to $6,000.- for student pilots to complete the requirements for a private pilot certificate. The program has been changed a bit (see attached instructions and application), and the new eligibility requirement are:

1. Have a student pilot certificate and medical
2. Be a 99 Student Pilot member for 3 months preceding the application due date.
3. Logged 5-flight hours in the 6-months preceding the application deadline
4. Show financial need.

The application is very much like application forms for the AE scholarships the 99s offer (good practice) and will require a personal letter of recommendation, a designated Chapter Mentor, and an essay in addition to filling out all the forms. We can help you arrange a Chapter Mentor and in preparing the application.

The next deadline will be October 1, 2021.
